JBS Mercantile August Guest Linda Barber!

We are excited to welcome the talented Linda Barber as our JBS Mercantile Guest for the month of August.  Here is a little about Linda and a peek at her amazing work for us this month.  Check the design team gallery tonight at midnight CST for even more of her lovely work!

I live in the Westside of Los Angeles with my husband and three boys. As you've probably guessed, our household is loud, active, and somewhat stinky. But always filled with love, laughter, and good food. I love to travel, cook, and eat. I also love to knit, read, and sleep! If I had to categorize my favorites, travel would come in on top. My kids would probably say sleep is my favorite, though. You can see more of my work on my blog, Miles of Paper, or follow me on Instagram (where I spend way way too much time, although I haven't fallen prey to Pinterest. Yet.)

I love how the Insta & Me layout turned out. I changed my mind ten times before finishing it. It has everything I love on layouts: tiny photos, stamping and ink, hand stitching, arrows, white cardstock, journaling, happy colors.

I love to stamp, and I have a huge collection of ink pads. My favorite are the small ones. A few months ago, I got this container at Home Depot, and as it happens, it holds all of my small ink pads. For now, that is. Just looking at it makes me happy. I'm simple like that.

I scrapped my current favorite photo! I took it with my phone a month ago, and Instagrammed it. Two of my adorable kids are in it. But I also love the little bits of detail in it. The colors of the water and the float. The goggles they are wearing, the watermelon on ice, how content the kids look, my husband's leg floating. It takes me back to our little holiday and instantly makes me happy.

Digi Monday with Debbie Hodge

I'd love to show you how Debbie Hodge has used some of our digital products.

In Amblerville Debbie has done some amazing digital die-cutting and accented the floral designs in the Black Vine Vintage Red Collection with digital cabochons.

What a sweet layout this is!  Debbie combined papers from our Homespun Collection, and our Soda Paper Collection to make create this page with a comfy feel.   I had a hard time believing this was digital!

We'll be posting more of Debbie's layouts on the blog soon.  Thank you Debbie, for sharing your digi talents with us!

You can learn more about what Debbie does in the world of scrapbooking by clicking on her website link:  DebbieHodge.com .  From that page, you'll see links to her four websites:  GetItScrapped, MasterfulScrapbookDesign, EasyScrapbookPages, and ThisMemoryKeepersLife .

This week, we're releasing something very special in the Digital Shoppe.  If you've gone on vacation ... ever ... you'll love it!  If you're a fan of fresh vintage, you'll love it! And if you're a fan of a special mini album format, you'll love it!

But you'll have to wait until Thursday to see it!  That's when the new Project Plaza kits go up!

Have a great day!

Did you guys see Magpie?

What about the stencil papers?

And these??

I love these things! The papers have such amazing colors and the stencils and stamp papers are just so different and fun. I was excited to get to use them on another page for CHA.

And they all work together!

CHA Layouts | Printed Tags

Printed Tags perforated paper

I was so happy to see more of the JBS Perforated Papers released at CHA! These papers made wonderful additions to a page and can be used as journaling spots, frames, textural embellishments and even backgrounds for layouts.  The Printed Tags have to be my favorite and adorned with some ribbon and Shadow Alpha Stickers, they become quick and easy mattes for photos:

Live Laugh Love  •  layout by Lisa Dickinson

The Grid Stamp created a nice place to showcase some of the Wren papers, as well as the new Plain Chipboard Hexagons (which perfectly fit with the Quilted Stickers!)

Lots of fun new products that are sure to spark your creativity! So keep checking back here for more ideas and inspiration on how to use them all!

JBS Mercantile August Sneak Peeks!

Well.  If the sneak peeks are any indication (which you know they are!), August is going to be an amazing month in the JBS Mercantile Gallery.  This first one is from Lisa Dickinson and oh so cleverly showcases the August Exclusive Alphabet Stencil.  Oh yes, amazing indeed!

And here is a delightful one from Waleska Neris with August's Exclusive Mod Dots Stamp in the background.  Pure happiness here!

Next is an oh so elegant layout from Briana Johnson, again featuring the Exclusive Alphabet Stencil, but this time pulling in some vintage treasures from the August Artisan Kit.  You altered artists are really going to love the dimensional pieces in this one.
Corrie Jones used the stencil to create her relaxed and beachy title.  This one incorporates some bits from the August Artisan Add-on.  I think the Basic Grey Journaling pad is a must have for all you writers out there.

And finally, one from Doris Sander that really highlights the patterned paper collection.  It has a late summer, back to school, 70's vibe that is perfect for August scrappiness.  I just can't wait to see more from this one!  July 31st at midnight seems too far away!

A Digi Sale and "A Good Thing"

Today we have two of our digital products on sale!

Our Tangerine Dream Collection is 40% off:

and our Beach Bingo Cards are only ONE dollar!

Just perfect for summer!

While cruising through Pinterest the other day, I fell upon this project:

A beachcombers handmade scrapbook for all those little treasures you find at the beach.  Wouldn't the Beach Bingo Cards, enlarged, make wonderful covers for a book of this sort?

So here's my project at the start of the process ...

I put the Bingo Cards into my word processor and enlarged them to 9-3/4" high x 7" wide and printed them.   They printed beautifully and I think will make the most lovely front and back cover for this album!

If you want to do something similar, hop on over to our Digital Shoppe and grab a kit for only one dollar!  It's a good thing!

CHA summer layout and mini album

It's been so fun seeing what the team created with the brand new supplies from this release! Today I wanted to share two projects that I made for the booth! The first is a layout using the stitched grid stamp:

And embellished with the chipboard quilt stars and tags!
I loved using the grid as a guide to stitch on the side of the page, and then fill all of the little spaces!

The last project that I created for the booth was a small book that I filled will all  kinds of goodies.

Here's a peek at a few of the inside pages:

Don't forget to keep checking in for more great projects all week!

It's Still Digi Monday - New Release and a Gorgeous Hybrid

Monday's not gone yet, and we have a new digital release that we're excited to show you!

This kit contains beautiful floral images reminiscent of those seen on vintage transferware plates.  The large circular image in the middle can be found on the Medallion Mercantile Exclusive Stamp and has been extremely popular!  Hmmm.  Why not get it in digi form too and then you can make it any size you like?

If you pick this kit up in the next couple of hours,  you'll still be able to get it at the sale price!  Get it right here:   Transferware Flowers

Project Plaza is a new shopping section at JessicaSprague.com where you can pick up wonderful digital and hybrid project kits.  Here's just an example that took my breath away:

The incredibly talented Camille Robinson developed this kit using digital papers from the Farmer's Wife Collection.  If you want more information on this kit click right here.

CHA Layouts | Perforated Papers

JBS Perforated Papers: Kraft Receipt & Red Label

Hello JBS fans! Today I wanted to share one of the layouts from the CHA booth that uses Jenni's fabulous Perforated Papers. I've mixed in the Kraft Receipt and Red Label with papers from Wren to create a dimensional chevron pattern:
My Boy  •  layout by Lisa Dickinson
I just love the bit of texture the perforated edges add to a page. And the Red Label paper is perfect for adding journaling details to your layout. I stamped mine with several adjectives to describe my sweet boy!

Keep checking back here all week to see more of the new products and projects from CHA. We've got lots of wonderful new things to share!

sharing some cha summer inspiration

I loved working with all of the new products that Jenni sent, but I wanted to share my projects created with the new feathers - which are AMAZING to work with! Jenni has done it again!

For this layout, I wanted to scrapbook a photo of my grandmother. I never thought about it much when she was alive {because she just didn't make a big deal out of things}, but she was the one who taught me to embroider - and was a quilter. And some of my favorite childhood foods are things that she preserved {she had this amazing "pickled salad" that she canned that was a mix of yummy veggies in a sweet/sour pickling}.

Anyway, as I get older, I realize more and more that a lot of the things that I do now, are linked to things that she did in my childhood, or, of course, taught my mom. Amazing. She will always hold a special spot in my heart, even though she passed when I was just 18.

And I thought the "fancy checks" perforated sheet was perfect for simple invitation. You can see the tags and "fancy checks" in this post here. The register spots were perfect to slot in info about an upcoming event!

Hope you're enjoying all of the amazing projects and products from summer CHA! Have a lovely Thursday!
